(84) :value2

Takes a specified number, variable, or equation and squares it (multiplies it by itself).

This command does not exist in TI-89; ^2 will have to be used instead.

LocationEdit

  • X2

ExamplesEdit

  • 9^2
    • The above equation would give you an answer of 81 because 9×9=81.
  • -4^2
    • The above equation would give you an answer of -16. Why? The reason is that the calculator performs powers before negation. It would perform -(4^2), not (-4)^2.
